Meet Rachel Ticktin, VMD
Dr. Rachel Ticktin grew up in Roosevelt, NJ, where a household full of cats
and dogs nurtured a deep love for animals and an interest in science.
By the age of 13, Dr. Ticktin knew that a career in veterinary medicine was her
calling.
Dr. Ticktin graduated Cum Laude from Bryn Mawr College in 2002 with a degree in
Biology. They continued their academic excellence at the University of Pennsylvania's
School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Cum Laude in 2007 and being recognized as an Opportunity Scholar. Before earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Ticktin gained valuable experience working in various animal-related roles. Summers were spent at a pet store, as a veterinary technician, and in the education department at the Philadelphia Zoo, each role reinforcing their commitment to animal welfare.
Dr. Ticktin joined Exclusively Cats Medical Center of Medford in 2024. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, and preventative medicine. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and hold certifications in Fear Free and Cat Friendly practices.
At home, Dr. Ticktin enjoys the company of four beloved cats: Maddie, a Bengal, Cricket, an orange and white long-haired cat, and brothers Franklin and Theo, both black and white long-haired cats. In her free time, they love spending time with her husband Brian, traveling, going on nature walks, and exploring new restaurants.
