Meet Kristen Mitchell, VMD
Dr. Kristen Mitchell is a dedicated veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field and a decade as a licensed veterinarian, specializing exclusively in feline care. Her passion for all things feline is evident in her commitment to creating a calm, cat-friendly environment where pets and their owners feel at ease. Dr. Mitchell holds a special interest in feline dentistry and pain management, striving to help cats live healthier, more comfortable lives.
Dr. Mitchell's journey into veterinary medicine began in her hometown of Moorestown, NJ, where growing up next to a veterinarian sparked her passion for animal care. Her experience as a veterinary technician in a small animal practice in Cherry Hill solidified her decision to pursue a career as a small animal veterinarian. She completed her undergraduate studies in Environmental Science at Gettysburg College in 2005 and earned her veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow in 2015.
A member of the AVMA and Fear Free certified, Dr. Mitchell's professional interests extend to shelter medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and preventive medicine. She finds the most rewarding part of her work to be connecting with owners, building lasting relationships with clients and their pets, and enhancing their day-to-day lives through education.
Outside of work, Dr. Mitchell enjoys spending time with her family, including her three cats—Mr. Harry, Spencer, and Tiger—and two dogs, Elliot and Rose. She loves chasing after her twins, reading, and indulging in beach-related activities. An avid traveler, she’s often planning her next adventure.
